I haven't written much lately. Since I found facebook as a tool for communication, I've been posting a lot of 1-liner statuses on Remembering Shea's facebook page (jokes and some commentary, along with some links including everything that I post here). But it's a lot of things that just seem like they're too small to post on the blog itself.
That being said, please head over there and "like" my page if you haven't already. I just saw something new on facebook where I can have a vanity URL for my page (I know they've had it for actual user accounts for a while).
So go visit me at http://www.facebook.com/RememberingShea. I do want to integrate the feed from the facebook page into the blog so that readers can see it all in one place.

Observations
A few things while watching today's game.
After seeing the infield fly play last night, the near-4th out play on the sac fly today, and Blanco stealing second, I get the feeling that today's game will be won by something unconventional.
It's great listening to Ralph Kiner. Why, when he does work, does he not appear from the top of the broadcast? Today he came on for the bottom of the 2nd. I hope he stays for all 9 (or more?) innings.
I'm trying to redesign the site. It's harder that it looks. The coding aspect of it is not the problem (hey, I'm a pro. seriously). It's creating, choosing, and picking things that I want that I'm no good at. Sorry in advance if I steal design elements from other blogs (take it as a complement).
I'm also trying out something new on the facebook side for my site since I don't trust Networked Blogs to appear in every fan's news feed (subject to hiding 'Remembering Shea') and Facebook's Notes application just doesn't like automatically pulling my posts. It's called Social RSS. If you see this post on your facebook news feed (that it, without clicking over to the Remembering Shea wall), then that's a good thing, and you should please let me know (that may not have been the best grammar). For those afflicted with the same facebook problems, if you like it and it seems to work for you, go ahead and try it yourself.

I.O.U.
I'll make it official. I owe you a redesign, and some static "pages" for things like multimedia and "about me". I want to integrate the multimedia on this site with the facebook page, but that may come later.

I also have almost 1500 blog posts from Mets fans, Mets beat writers, and Metsblog.com to read (on their sites). I fell very far behind before I left for Florida, and I haven't done very well catching up while I've been here. I hope to be all caught up by Opening Day.

I have nothing to say and you can read it on Facebook
Well, where do I begin. I don't report game-to-game on the Mets, so I need to think of something to write or let stories fall in my lap. I've posted comments on the very weird Tony Bernazard story on a few other blogs over the past couple days.
About Tony B - he should be fired. Not just because of the allegations of his rough play with others. He's in charge of the minor leagues, and our top 2 minor league teams are in worse shape than the Mets top team is. Just like people think Omar Minaya should be fired because the Mets seemingly have no depth, Tony B should be fired for failing to do his job. But if any of these allegations are shown to be true, he should be fired just for that.
But knowing the dysfunctional Mets (and these incidents alone don't make the Mets dysfunctional), this matter will either be "under investigation" until we all forget about it, or they'll find no wrong doing on Tony B's part because Tony B is in tight with Jeff Wilpon, wannabe full-fledged Mets owner, and the crazy son of the silent owner gets his way.
On the field, I read on one of the great blogs an idea that the Mets start bringing up minor league prospects. It certainly can't hurt, but they'd have to make room on the roster. Oh but wait, don't we have minor leaguers on the roster? Time will tell, and the Mets will probably continue to fight, and fight poorly until September when the rosters expand.
Mets 2012: rejuvinated at 50.
